What is Emble?

Emble is a platform that helps companies run unmoderated, remote user research.

You can create research, add tasks, and send them off to participants to complete in their own time.

The participants will then record themselves completing these tasks, and upon submitting, they'll be stored on your dashboard for you to review.

In the tasks themselves, you can attach Figma prototypes, websites, or just ask general questions, and watch how they respond.

To tie it all together, AI reviews your participants videos and automatically conducts thematic analysis to provide you with genuinely useful insights.

I'm probably biased, but it's really great.

Why are we building this?

In my previous role as a Product Manager at LOVESPACE, some of the best insights I got were from speaking to users, and seeing how they used and thought about products.

But it was very time consuming, and frankly, expensive.

I had to use multiple platforms, from User Interviews to recruit participants, to Notion to create the research briefs, to Zoom for running the sessions - and that's not even mentioning actually reviewing the sessions and getting insights from them afterwards.

It used to take us hours and hours of work. I really felt like there had to be a better way to do it.

So I set about building a platform that did do it better.

How is Emble solving these problems?

Put simply:

• Emble allows you to create research, and add task instructions quickly and easily.
• Emble allows you to invite participants to your research, and send them a unique link to complete your tasks in their own time.
• Emble records participants doing your tasks, then processes all of the videos for you - pulling out key thematic analysis, and other insights automatically.
• Emble allows you to test prototypes, websites, or ask general questions, all in the user's browser and in their own time.
• Emble verifies participants before completing your research, ensuring you get legitimate responses, and prevents bad participants from taking part.

And in the future:

• Emble will allow you to recruit participants, and pay them, all from one platform.
• Emble will use a machine learning model to ask users to explain their answers better in real time.
• Emble will be able to build and run user research, without you doing anything except tell it what you want to find out about, and how much you want to spend.

It combines all of the different platforms for conducting user research into one.
